A Lovingly restored 14th century hamlet offering a range of accommodation.
Dating back to the 14th century, Prato di Sotto began its life as an olive mill before being lovingly restored over the past forty years. Sitting serenely on Montecorona, Prato di Sotto enjoys uninterrupted views onto the valley below and across to Monte Acuto. The first thing you notice is the peace and natural beauty where sunrise and sunset are a visual fiesta.
Located above the stunning medieval borgo of Santa Giuliana and immersed in the lush Umbrian countryside, this lovely Italian real estate property consists of four buildings, three of which are nestled around a charming courtyard. Each house has its own unique character, each consciously renovated using reclaimed tiles, oak beams, stone fireplaces and antique doors. The designs intend to gently combine modern amenities with a blend of both contemporary and traditional materials and fittings.
Casa Antica is the largest house in the hamlet. Spread over two floors, it has four bright and spacious en-suite rooms and boasts tall ceilings, original architectural features and stunning views. There is also a private courtyard which is wrapped in Jasmine and is the ideal place for dining.
La Terrazza is aptly named thanks to the large expanse of private terrace that overlooks the valley below and the grape and wisteria covered pergola provide welcome shade during the warmer days. La Terrazza occupies the ground floor of the largest building in the hamlet and boasts tall ceilings and the original architectural features. The living area is open plan and spacious and the two double bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The shared 15m infinity pool is an easy stroll away.
Il Molino (the mill) was the original olive mill. It is a charming, open plan studio with separate bathroom and it overlooks the hamlet’s central courtyard but also has a private terrace. The ground floor is currently an open plan space which could be incorporated with the studio, if required to make a larger living area.
La Capanna, the smallest of all the houses is a 1 bedroom en suite with sitting room and kitchen. Set slightly apart from the main complex it has a private setting with patio and wonderful views.
The owners house is a 2 bedroom ensuite traditional Italian stone house. It has lovely sitting room with stone fireplace, dining room, kitchen and utility room all having an abundance of heavy wooden beams whilst still remaining light and spacious. It has its own private terrace with views. There is an entrance for access to the rest of the hamlet.
All of the buildings and the surrounding gardens have been carefully restored and lovingly maintained and this traditional country estate provides all the comforts of modern life within a truly magical context.
