Casa del Vescovo is so named because it was the summer residence of a Bishop (Vescovo in Italian); it was built in the XII century as a military watchtower in the shape of a Roman Tower. A small chapel in the basement although deconsecrated is a testimony of its past association with the Church; in the local lore there are rumours of a secret tunnel but it has never be found.

The property has recently been lovingly restored to a modern internal finish while retaining many of the original features. It contains seven bedrooms and five bathrooms and a further two guest toilets, over three floors. There are also 2 kitchens, one on the ground floor and one on the second floor next to the panoramic terrace.

At the moment the house is an active bed and breakfast and thank the smart organization of the spaces can fit different purposes; the third-floor apartment is fully autonomous as heating and other utilities are concerned so it can be used as a private residence for the owner; the second-floor apartment is also self-contained.

The house is also well suited for remote working with different rooms and common space that could easily work for meeting rooms.

At the moment the internet connection is good and there is the opportunity for high-speed connection to be installed.
The first floor comprises:
· A reception room with a large terrace (27 square meters) with amazing panoramic views of the surrounding valley, village and mountains and is equipped with table, chairs and sun loungers. Plumbing is in place for a Jacuzzi to be installed if so desired.

· A professionally equipped kitchen
· One double bedroom with a private bathroom (bath, shower, bidet, toilet, and large wash hand basin);
· The other double bedroom has an en-suite bathroom;
· A private suite with a double and a single bedroom with an en-suite

The second floor is a private self-contained apartment, consisting of two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two singles located in a mezzanine above the reception area.
The apartment on the third floor contains an en-suite bathroom, fitted kitchen/dining room and a spacious reception room. There is also a separate Laundry facility including a washing machine, iron and ironing board.

The property has a private secure parking area for clients and a large private, secure, garden (approx. 100 square metres) suitable for sunbathing and BBQ. The village is a friendly quiet spot surrounded by signed nature trails and is on the San Francis Way, the trail which connects the sanctuary of La Verna to Assisi. The house location is an excellent starting point for walks to discover the natural beauty of this valley, collecting mushrooms and berries and enjoying the natural surroundings.

The village has a six (6) day a week bus service to the local walled, medieval town of Sansepolcro which runs at 10.15 to town and 12.25 back up.

There are two restaurants in the village a three-minute stroll from the house and are open at the weekends or by reservation.

The local town of Sansepolcro with its many restaurants, street markets, supermarkets, health food stores, museums etc. is 8 km downhill. The town is well-known for its restaurants and amazing local cuisine.

The Civic Museum shows one of the greatest paintings in the world, the Resurrection by Piero Della Francesca (the most important painter of the Renaissance). For those who love plants and herbs, the Aboca Museum is a must for a fascinating journey through the history of medicinal herbs.
